Thursday, May 31st

We finished up the siding on the back side of the house today and got started on the front. We also built the covered front porch over the two front entry doors. Now we will be installing the roof and the aluminum underside on the porch. We are also installing two recessed lights under the new porch. The composite decking is getting delivered tomorrow, so if it doesn't rain we'll be able to get that going as well.

The composite decking will be delivered on Friday and from there we will be installing that and the composite railing. Tomorrow we will start building a a covered porch over the front entry doors. Once we have that up we can install the new sidng on the front.

Tuesday, May 29th

Between the end of last week and today we are off to a great start on our remodel project in North Muskegon. So far we have all of the old wood siding removed, two of the sides already have the new siding installed, the eaves are almost done, and we tore the old back deck down in the back and started building the new one today.

Thursday, May 24th

We will be finished up with the roof that we have been working on in Grand Haven today! Finally! This one took some time with all of the tear off and building up with insulation board. The guys worked real hard on this one. We will also find out today if we are going to be installing new siding on the same house. We are going to be installing new windows in the upper two thirds, and building a new porch with a raised deck. We also started a complete exterior remodel in North Muskegon. This one will be getting new siding, two new decks, some concrete work, and new seamless gutters.

Wednesday, May 16th

Our roofing project in Grand Haven is coming along. It's moving quite a bit slower than anticipated due to the five layers of old roofing. We are now down to two sides of the house left to tear off, build up, and install the new shingles. We have four sides finished. We should have everything complete sometime early next week if the weather continues to cooperate.

Wednesday, May 9th

We started a new roofing project in Grand Haven last week. The weather wasn't very cooperative at the end of last week and Monday of this week. Since then it has been quite nice and we are making some progress. This one is a very old historical home down town and we we are doing a unique install to provide added insulation. We are building the roof deck up with 1 1/2" insulated foam board with new OSB on top of that which will provide an additional R-15 or so. We did run into a little snag right from the start. There are 5 layers of roofing on it! In 15 years this is only the second time I have ever came across that many. It will add about an extra week on to the job but we have to get it down to the original decking. We will also be installing new windows and an elevated deck on this house.

Wednesday, May 2nd

We were supposed to start a new roofing project in Grand Haven today but the morning weather did not allow that. Instead we went over to Maranatha in Norton Shores and installed a new glass entry door with two sidelights. Tomorrows weather looks a little iffy as well.
